[resolved] True fade? (5 posts)

This is a great plug-in and I'm probably going to be using it. But I would really like to be able to control the way the slides change from one to another. At the moment they blink out for a fraction of a second between changes. I would like a smooth fade from one slide to the next.

Is this possible? Does anyone know the short code for this?

    This is what I've got:

This is what I'm trying to achieve:
(This slider is animated using Cyberchimps iFeature theme, but I'm really fed up with Cyberchimps for other problems and looking to escape to Atahualpa.)

    My personal solution was this:
At the bottom of the promo_slider.js file, there is a fade in / fade out function. Change the two instances of 'fast' to 'slow'. I don't see a way to indicate actual time in milliseconds, but the slow version gives a really nice gentle fade.

    Thanks for this tip lcsci.

I've tried it out, and as you say it gives a more gentle fade. It still doesn't do quite what I want - there's a still a moment between slides when there's nothing on the screen - but esthetically it's certainly better than the fast blink.

Slight amendment to this...in the promo_slider.js file change the two instances of 'fast' to 1000 or whatever figure you want. No quotes... and it works perfectly. I've replaced so many sliders in various themes with this but only just discovered this!

Perhaps this could be added to the configuration screen??

    Excellent thanks Patsky.

This should def be an admin option in the next release if possible.
