    I’m new at wordpress. I’ve installed wordpress3.0.1 using localhost. After that I saw plugins(akismet) update. And I install that.After that It has said to me that “Akismet is almost ready. You must enter your Akismet API key for it to work”. My question is how and where I get my API key?Another things I want to know that I visit my new site at http://localhost/foldername(name of folder where I installed the wordpress)
    My question is without using localhost how can I visit my new site?(I mean though which address other people can visit my page?)
    Please help me.

    1. akismet API key is obtained at wordpress.com

    2. You use your external IP address. You may have to set up port forwarding in your router to do that. Or you can use a service like dyndns to get a free domain name that routes to your external IP. But you have to have your server set up to allow external traffic.
