Troubles with updates

Im having problems with my site again. It seems that the plugins are CONSTANTLY having problems, and I cant update them without uninstalling, deleting directory from the server, and reinstalling with losing all my settings. I am also having issues with deleting any wordpress files from my server. I have been told that this is a problem with wordpress and my webhost assures me that it is nothing on their end.

This is the error I am receiving within wordpress:

Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/eshop.zip…

Unpacking the update…

Installing the latest version…

Removing the old version of the plugin…

Could not create directory. E:/Spaces/mhgrafix/mh-grafix.com/wwwroot/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/eshop/

Plugin update failed.

99% chance it is a Windows host problem. But try setting your permissions and see if that fixes things: Changing File Permissions « WordPress Codex

Or just update plugins manually using FTP.

Anything within wordpress on my FTP client gives me troubles with renaming or deleting files. Anything outside of my wordpress site, no issues. This is what my webhost responded:

Windows servers do not work like Linux for the permissions they are set by default and on a shared server you cant change the default permissions your folder inherits using FTP. You can reset your default permissions or adjust the current default ones using the control panel.

Sounds like your host isn’t very helpful. And linux tends to work better than windows. Recommended WordPress Web Hosting
