Trouble with Youtube Video (5 posts)

I am trying to embed a youtube video into my wordpress site. My site is hosted through dreamhost. It's url is http://www.rankandfiler.net.

In the past, I have been able to post youtube videos without any problem. I can still post vimeo videos as well.

I tried to post youtube videos with no plugins. Then I plugged in iframe, and then mediaelements.js.

The video I am trying to embed is here: http://www.youtube.com/v/HiCzskNrKiI. Alternatively, these links also work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiCzskNrKiI, http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/HiCzskNrKiI

I have looked through different online instructions for embedding video, and it doesn't seem that difficult. I have tried every code combination I could find. Nothing at all works. Sometimes I get the URL, sometimes I get an empty frame, sometimes I get a black square with a "Download video link".

Here are some of the various codes I tried (all in the html/text pane). I can't get any of them to work. What am I doing wrong?

    <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HiCzskNrKiI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="430" height="350"></embed></object>

The iframe code is available under the video at youtube...it can be customized there and then the generated code copied and pasted to your site..they also have non-iframe too...

Yeah, doesn't quite do it. That works for some of my videos and not others.

Here's an old video that no longer works on my page:

This was the code I got from YouTube, following your instructions:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bL9ZrbQa1Tc?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

When I paste that text in, I get only a video-sized empty space. Any other ideas?

They suddenly all work. I didn't change anything. Hmm. Strange. Well, thanks for reading.

Check your emails from Youtube, perhaps they have locked access for one of many reasons..
