Support » Fixing WordPress » Trouble with Robot.txt

  • I joined Technorati and requested that they verify my blog. I had a message back saying they couldn’t do this because the robot.txt was preventing from crawling my site. The privacy setting are set as, allow search engines to index this site. So where is this robot.txt file and how can I alter it’s settings???

BTW I have 5 plugins WordPress protection, WordPress hit counter,FB status updater,Easy Contact form and Ajax quick subscribe. Would any of these interfere?

  • Hi, best way to check robots.txt is to ftp to your server and check the your site root folder and wordpress folder for a file robots.txt, you can delete it or you can edit it to allow crawling.

Thanks, looked at my FTP info and through web files. No robot.txt coming up in any of those places.
