# Trouble Sorting

 * I need help in figuring out why my sorting will not work after making an update
   to a cell, please.
 * I am using =SUM(C2:G2) in a cell to calculate total scores, when weekly updates
   are added into cells (C2 through G2). If I enter all the information in and sort
   the table by this column, it works perfectly. However, if I go in and edit and
   of the numbers in cells C2 through G2, the sorting no longer works. The sum correctly
   updates, but the sorting no longer works correctly.
 * You can see the table in question (the top table is the one I am experimenting

   As you can see, the total score is no longer sorting correctly, after I made 
   a change to a part of the Camargo row. I did in fact click the sort buttons in
   the admin section of tablepress and resaved the table.

 * thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.
 * At first, please make sure that you use the latest version of TablePress (1.6.1)
   and WordPress. From what I can see, you are still using TablePress 1.5.1.
    You
   should then also not need the DataTables Sorting Extension so that I suggest 
   that you test without it.
 * Which sorting exactly are you refering to here? Where do I have to click in order
   to reproduce this? What are the expected results and what’s happening instead?

 * Thank you for your help. I have updated WP and TablePress to the latest versions,
   and disabled the DataTables extension.
 * If you look at the first table on [http://www.gcwga.org/spring-teams/spring-team-results/roster-test/](http://www.gcwga.org/spring-teams/spring-team-results/roster-test/),
   the Spring Team Results: Division I table, you will see that Carmargo is no longer
   in numerical order by Total Score. All worked well when we first created the 
   table, but when I went back in and changed one of the Week scores, it summed 
   correctly, but the sorting is no longer valid.
 * We sort in the dashboard, in the TablePress table, using the ascending/descending
   arrows above the appropriate column and then update changes. Is there any code
   I can include to make sure it updates the sorting automatically, even after changes
   are made?

 * Hi,
 * the reason for this simply is that the sorting on the “Edit” screen sorts based
   on the “source” content in the cells, i.e. it’s actually sorting the formulas
   and the results of the formulas.
 * My suggestion here would be to let TablePress sort the table just before it’s
   displayed. For that, you can use the TablePress Extension from [https://tablepress.org/extensions/table-row-order/](https://tablepress.org/extensions/table-row-order/)
