• Hi,

First of all thanks for this wonderful plugins. I have already installed on 4 sites, all was good.

My problem is on one installation. I registered my email for alert, and it kept on asking for it and to take the tour though I already did it. That was the first time I got this and I felt there was something wrong.

Then I tried the scan, it was not running. I tried to un-install re-install and I got an error trying to desactivate the plugin.

Fatal error: Call to a member function bind_param() on boolean in /…/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wfConfig.php on line 441

I tried manually etc but the problem is still the same.

Hope you can find a solution and it can help others in the need for it.

    Regards

  • Hello olivier280602,
it sounds like the API key has become corrupt or lost. When you reinstalled did you delete the Wordfence tables before reinstalling? If not, can you try that please?

Here is a complete list of Wordfence tables:

    wp_wfBadLeechers
    wp_wfBlockedIPLog
    wp_wfBlocks
    wp_wfBlocksAdv
    wp_wfConfig
    wp_wfCrawlers
    wp_wfFileMods
    wp_wfHits
    wp_wfHoover
    wp_wfIssues
    wp_wfLeechers
    wp_wfLockedOut
    wp_wfLocs
    wp_wfLogins
    wp_wfNet404s
    wp_wfReverseCache
    wp_wfScanners
    wp_wfStatus

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer.

    I tried it again.

First when I try to stop the plugin before deleting it I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function bind_param() on boolean in /…/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wfConfig.php on line 441

So I deleted the plugin folder, all the database you told me (20), and some files that appeared to be related to the plugin.

I re-installed it from the online plugin source, and I still have the same problem. Asking me to insert my email (what I just did) and I can’t scan.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello olivier280602,
I have seen this error before but I believe we have not yet tracked down the cause. Are you able to send a diagnostics report when Wordfence is activated? If so can you try sending one to me?

Go to Wordfence “Diagnostics” page and at the bottom click the button that says “Send Report by Email”. Change the prefilled address to asa@wordfence.com and please provide your username so I know who the mail is coming from. Also let me know here in the thread when you have sent it so I can go grab it and file it in the correct location. Thanks in advance.
