@tjalberti thanks for reaching out to us!
Do you see in any errors messages before being redirected back to your website?
Thanks for the info @tjalberti ! In order to troubleshoot this more could you run through these checks:
1. Reset Site Kit : Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit
2. Check with your host if you have security measures enabled on the server level like Modsecurity. If so, temporarily disable them during setup only. You can re-enable them right after.
3. Install Site Kit in a new incognito window
If the above steps don’t resolve your issue share:
– The name of your hosting provider
– Site Health information
Hello, I’m having exactly the same problem. It started after WordPress and Plugin updates.
The plugin isn’t giving me the option to access the Settings, only the Dashboard, where it says: “The Site Kit plugin is active but requires setup”. When I start the setup, I login into my account, and get redirected to my homepage url with a long set of code after it, and no Site Kit configured at all.
How can I reset the settings in this scenario? Should I delete the plugin and re-install in incognito? Thanks.
@guitc thanks for your report. We encourage opening a new topic per forum guidelines. We’ll be able to address your particular case there.
I have tried several times to Reset Site Kit and nothing happens when I hit the button. I’ve also tried uninstalling, deactivating, and then installing and reactivating.
I will check with my hosting company.
Thanks for the update @tjalberti ! Please feel free to provide the name of your hosting company. We’d be happy to investigate further as well.
Thanks! I’m with Total Choice Hosting.
@tjalberti I was able to recreate the issue at the host with a test site. The solution that worked for me is to temporarily disable ModSecurity during the setup process. (This is a known limitation)
1) From your hosting homepage, go to Login to Cpanel > ModSecurity (under the Security section). It is enabled by default.
2) You can disable it during the setup process, then re-enable it again after.
Could you let me know if this works for you? Thanks!
Hi again– so I was able to get Site Kit installed after deactivating ModSecurity (yay!). However, when I go into the Adsense part of the dashboard, I keep getting this message
“We’re getting your site ready for ads. This usually takes less than a day, but it can sometimes take a bit longer. We’ll let you know when everything’s ready.”
It’s been 4 days and I don’t know what’s going on. If I go into my Adsense account, I just get the instructions to paste the HTML code into my website… but I thought that SiteKit was supposed to do that for me. I feel like I’m stuck again.
Thanks for any help.
@tjalberti Thanks for the update, glad you got that issue resolved.
In relation to the AdSense issue I don’t see any trace of ads code placed by Site Kit when checking the source of of your site. If you want to open a new support ticket for this issue we can investigate for you.
