Trouble installing a Child theme

  • Hi,
    I recently installed WP on Bulehost and activated twenty eleven.

    I’ve since tried to install a child theme but it never seems to work.
    I installed the header text
    /*
    Theme Name: Twenty Eleven Child
    Theme URI: http: //example.com/
    Description: Child theme for the Twenty Eleven theme
    Author: Your name here
    Author URI: http: //example.com/about/
    Template: twentyeleven
    Version: 0.1.0
    */
    @import url(“../twentyeleven/style.css”);

    But I get a message “The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature”

    I tried installing the entire style.css file. It appears in my Cpanel directory but on in the installed theses.

    Anyone can help?
    I’m new and not very technical I’m afraid.

    Thanks.

    The theme uploader is expecting a .zip file of the child theme, not a .css file.

    Follow this guide to properly construct the child theme: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes (for example, it will need its own directory too, not just a style.css file).

    If you can’t create a .zip archive of the new child theme directory to install via the Dashboard, upload it manually via FTP.
