Trouble Importing

  • Hi,

I’ve had a wordpress hosted blog for quite a while and have had my own domain name and hosting site which re-directed to it. Today, I took a leap and actually installed the software onto my hosting account.

When I go to import the file I exported from my hosted blog, I get an error:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/jcyrusco/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/12.

    Any ideas what needs done?

  • Might need to change file permissions to be writeable — try 755 for wp-content and wp-content/uploads folder. If that doesn’t work use 777. Also make sure the upload folder in Settings->Miscellaneous does in fact specify wp-content/uploads.

I’m pretty sure changing file permissions is what you meant to link me to, because the link you provided is dead.

I checked file permissions. wp-content and wp-content/uploads were already 755, upped it to 777, and still nothing. Also checked the settings, no cigar.

Can you attach an image to a post?
