Support » Theme: OceanWP » trouble for removing header and menu?

  • Hi,

About 10 days ago I removed my static header and menu on all my blog posts. Right after my clicks (visitors) decreased a lot and are still decreasing. Could this have anything to do with the removal of the header and menu?

    Best regards
    Ann

I tried to simply update the post and then it worked. It was just that it was not shown in the preview mode :-/

    Hi again,

So it worked on desktop once I hit update (but did not show up in preview mode).

BUT it does not work on mobiles?? Please go to my site and click on my first post. You will see on a desktop it has a top bar menu now. But on mobiles it does not! Instead it has three social icons???

    Hello,

Kindly share the snapshots of the changes and result page that what differences are you experiencing.

Here is what it looks like on desktops: https://ibb.co/BV94w98

But on mobiles it has no topbar! Instead it has three social icons. This is so strange!!

I cannot share snapshot from the mobile so please visit my site from a mobile. It is the first post.

    Hello,

On the other pages, you have added the menu in the top bar and In general top bar menu moves into the main menu in mobile view but there is no main menu so it is not showing.

You can create the custom header and assign those from the page level setting to fix this issue.

How do you mean? I do not understand correctly?

And how do you mean create a custom header? I do not want to use elementor, can I create a header without it? Please explain .

    Best regards
    Ann

Yes, Of course, you can create a custom header without using the elementor.

Go to Theme Panel > My Library, create a template with any name, and add the contents in the template by using your default block/classic editor.

If you are using the block editor, add the blocks in the template according to need(similarly as you doing in the elementor).

Ok. So what should i include in the header? Is this the place where I should have my logo image?

    Hi again,

I am just so confused now.
The idea for me was to remove my header that I have already. But since I still want to have a menu you said I could enable a top bar menu. So I did. But it did not show mobiles.

Now, to be able to have it shown on mobiles, you say I have to create a new header?
    I do not understand 🙁

    Hello,

Adding a logo in the header is your choice. It depends on your site structure.
But after adding the top menu header style, the menu should show on the mobile.
Can you please replicate the issue on any page and share the URL.

Also share the replated snapshots of your settings, which will help to understand the issue.

I will try to create a short for you and share.

Ok then I skip the logo.

Yes I have added and enabled the top menu header. And it shows on desktops. But it does not show on mobiles! That is the problem! Instead of a many what is shown on mobiles are three social icons at the top.

So I do not know what to do? What settings do you want me to send you?

    Hello,

Visited the shared URL and not getting the Top Menu header style, It’s showing the CUstom header style.

Kindly replicate the issue on any page and share that page URL to check the issue.

    Hi,

Yes I have the customer header on my home page but only there. If you click on any of my posts, for example my first post, you’ll see the top menu. But only on desktops. The problem is on mobiles 🙁 So check on a mobile and see what it looks like.

I have the settings you show on that picture on page level.

    Best regards
    Ann

Thank you for sharing the steps to check the issue.

Visited the other page and sorry but you are using the menu in the top bar not using the top menu header style.

Sorry, If I was not clear, Let me try to explain to you again.

Top Bar and Header are two different sections.
In the mobile view, only the main menu is visible, which means there must be a menu in the header area only then you will get menus in the mobile view.

In the header, there are different styles and Top is one of the header styles, it does not mean to use the menu in the topbar section.

If you will see the above snapshots closely, you will get the solution.

Please try to follow the above steps and let us know if you get the points.
