Trouble creating forum in twenty eleven (8 posts)

I would like to create a forum in my twenty eleven child theme at http://bicycle-works.com/forum/

    How do I:
    a) remove the sidebar widget from my forum page only to use the full width of the content area. I believe this could be done in the FTP files under pages.php, sidebar.php within the child themes, but I'm not that comfortable with code!!!

    b) install a forum widget; I have tried installing "Bublaa embeddable forums" and "Mingle Forum" plugins. I couldn't get either to show up.

    a)
don't use the 'sidebar template' for your forum page.

You can use a template without sidebars when you create the page

I understand the idea, but how do I "use a template without sidebars"?

Right now I can select the following templates:
    Default
    Showcase
    Sidebar
    WPBB

All of them seem to show the sidebar

The default in twenty eleven theme does not have sidebars

    I could be explaining incorrectly...

I'm talking about the "main sidebar" under widgets - that is the sidebar, right?

To clarify my thinking (as I'm a newbie and might be making mistakes with how to approach my problem):

Right now, I have my business hours, location, and social media in the widget "main sidebar". This shows up on each page. When I went to install a forum on a new page, it didn't show up. My first thought was that there was some conflict somewhere. One idea was that it was to narrow, so removing the "main sidebar" widget from the forum page would solve that problem.

I also think I could be creating this conflict with some modification I made to a file in my child theme.

    OK, I resolved "a)"

The problem was that under the twenty eleven theme extensions plugin, there is an option for sidebar to "enable sidebar on pages". I unchecked this and as you guys said, the default template has no sidebar.

I still am not able to view any forum on the page...
