Trouble adding navigation

    I’m trying to add navigation buttons to my site.
    I went to this webiste and got the download and the install directions:
    http://themes-plugins.com/custom-nav-navigation-menu/

    I cannot copy and paste the code, so I just typed it where they said too in my header..php file and hit update.

    Problem? Their directions: #4 From the WordPress admin panel navigate to Options>Custom Nav

    Well? I don’t see this anywhere in wp.
    Any ideas or a better way to add navigation in the form of bars or buttons to my page (in the header)?
