# trouble activating plugin

 * I am TRYING to rebuild my blog in Word Press after having an active blog in another
   blogging platform. So, I am a little frustrated because I can’t seem to do even
   the simplest things.
 * The most frustrating thing right now is I am trying to activate Akismet plugin.
   I uploaded it into my wp-content-plugin directory. Everything is fine except 
   it will not accept my username or password. I have re-entered all my information
   in my profile and I have even registered my username. But I still cannot get 
   past the login fields. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

 * what will not accept your username and password?
 * look at the description of the plugin;
 * > Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they
   > look like spam or not. **You need a WordPress.com API key to use it.**
 * its not your blogs username and password, you need to go to wordpress.com and
   sign up, it will give you an API key.
