I have tried the wordpress.com and wordpress.org versions of Triton Lite, but neither of them give me the option of customizing the slider, style and front page per: http://s13.postimage.org/hvuw2iulj/control.jpg.

I'm SURE the version seen in the link is what I should be seeing. My version is a lot more boring and is only listed under Appearance as "Theme Options". All it offers me is Accent Color and Link Color. I've tried re-installing the theme, using different browsers and just about everything else obvious.

    see my site in progress:

or my try with the .com version

I posted this in the WordPress.com forum as well, even though I prefer to use the .org version. Please help.

I have the same question. I just started using godaddy to host my site, and use th FTP Manager to upload the version here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/triton-lite

But when I log in using the byrdistheword.com/wp-admin I see the same exact panel options as I did before I hosted my site and loaded the theme.

I do not see this: http://s13.postimage.org/hvuw2iulj/control.jpg

CUrrently, my site is not using the theme, because I cannot add the sliding bars, or add three columns.

    Can someone please help me?

    Thanks for the quick response!

Here are screen shots for you:

    2 - https://skitch.com/jayciro/85itt/google-chrome

All I want to do is add a third column, use the slider header and blog away :(
As I said I am paying godaddy for hosting my site and using the FTP File Manager.

    Thanks for all your help!

The wordpress.com version is different than the wordpress.org version. The wordpress.com team stripped a lot of features to make it very simple to use. If you have any questions regarding the theme you can ask it in the wordpress.com theme forum:

Just for clarity then, when we download Triton Lite from our self-hosted wp sites what we're getting is the .com version and not the correct .org version?
And that's why we need to download the theme from the link above:
It's a lovely theme and poses a perfect solution for my client but only if I can get it to work obviously. Right now my slider (despite triple checked correctly set settings) isn't working right.
(yes: sticky posts, yes properly size featured images, yes posts landing page, etc)

    Thanks so much for everything!

did you add "featured images" to your slides?

    Yes did. I also:

sized the images at the suggested dimensions
set the stickiness for each post
made sure the quantity of slides to display matches the quantity of sticky posts (4)

Is there some other setting I'm missing? Does each image/post need to have a certain title or something? Each of these is untitled. Do they need to be categorized or tagged in some special way>

the wordpress.org version of the theme doesnt take sticky posts as your slides. You will have to setup the slides from Slide menu from the left.

Go to Appearance> Triton options> Documentation

and read the slider setup part.
