Google Calendar Events
Trim or truncate description in list display (4 posts)

    Currently using:

    [google-calendar-events id="1" type="list" title="Events on" max="10"]

    which works beautifully.

Anyway to truncate or trim the description since the individual descriptions are very long and a smaller excerpt would be more user-friendly.

    Hello David,

In the plugin settings, under "Display Options", in the event display builder field, adjust the [description] shortcode as below:

    [description limit="15"]

Replacing 15 with whatever word limit suits your needs.

    Hi Ross,

The word limit attribute works great.

If you plan to further develop it, limiting the display text to the first paragraph </p> or line break <br> in the event description would be very useful as well.

Thank you so much for your work! We're a Danish youth NGO with very limited resources, but this plugin makes it possible for us to integrate our new website to Google Calendar, while making it look less like the garage-made project it really is.
