Support » Fixing WordPress » Tried everything to get rid of second Home page

  • Hi,

    I’ve been trying to get rid of my second home page for the past 4 hours. I have tried everything.

    I have succeeded in removing it from my home page, but it reappears in my other pages.

    How do I remove the second home page from all my pages?

    Thank you,

  • I forgot:

    The site is in french. Hence why I don’t want a ‘Home’ page.

    I reinstalled WordPress in French but the problem doesn’t go away since my theme is in English.

    I have found a plugin which removes the ‘Home’ tab but it comes back on other pages.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Try editing your theme’s header.php file and looking for:

    <ul id="menu">
    <li><a href="<?php blogingo('url');?>">Home</a></li>
    <?php wp_list_pages('title_li=');?>

    You need to delete the line <li><a href="<?php blogingo('url');?>">Home</a></li>

    I didn’t find what you mentioned, but I did find:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
    <title><?php if(get_option('ds_home_title') && is_home()) echo stripslashes(get_option('ds_home_title')).' &raquo; '; ?><?php bloginfo('name'); ?> <?php wp_title(); ?></title>
    <meta name="description" content="<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>" />

    Nope – that’s not it. Have a look much farther down close to the bottom of that file. If you can’t find the code I gave above, see if you can find <?php get_sidebar();?> in that file instead.

    Thanks for the help man, but I don’t have that in my header file.

    It didn’t look a 100% like esmi said, but I found something very similar and got rid of the “HOME” word, so keep looking kev!! thanks esmi
