Tried all password resetting methods but nothing helps

I forgot the user name that I chose but I did remember the email address. This is what I tried to get a new password:

1. I clicked on “Lost your password?” and filled in the email address. It says “Check your e-mail for the confirmation link.” but I didn’t receive the email (after hours of waiting and multiple tries). I checked whether something is wrong with the email address but I do receive other emails.

2. I tried changing the password Through MySQL Command Line (as explained here http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password ) but the new password was not accepted by the login page.

3. I tried changing the password Through phpMyAdmin (also explained at http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password ) but again the new password is not accepted by the login page

I can see the password in the wp_users table in the mysql database but the page http://benelearn2013.org/wp-login.php does not accept it (it says “ERROR: The password you entered for the username xxx is incorrect.”)

What is going on? Please help me.
