Docs indicate that this function is available in Events Calendar, but it isn’t, and there’s no deprecation for it either. Critical’d an older site of ours. Please address.

    Hi @brumack ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Both functions, tribe_events_get_views and tribe_events_get_filters, have been removed in The Events Calendar version 6.0 and later (see Developer Changes: Version 6.0 with Legacy Views Removal).

Thanks, can you point out where on https://docs.theeventscalendar.com/reference/functions/tribe_events_get_filters/ it says this is a deprecated function that no longer exists in the current version?

Also, it was a weekend, not really sure that’s a good qualifier of whether or not a thread is stale.

    Hi @brumack

The tribe_events_get_filters function is listed among the removed functions and methods.

If you still need to use this function, one possible workaround for now is to downgrade your plugin to version 5.x.x.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Hi @brumack

I hope everything is going smoothly for you. I just wanted to touch base and inquire if you had the opportunity to review my previous response as it has been some time since we last heard from you.

    Hi there,

This thread has been inactive for a while, so we’ll go ahead and mark it Resolved. Please open a new thread if any other questions arise, and we’d be happy to help.

the function’s documentation itself doesn’t indicate its been downgraded, or what versions it’s relevant in. siloing the deprecations in another article that doesn’t show up in top 10 google search results (the go-to for any junior developer) is inefficient, and the issue i am raising.

    Hi @brumack

Currently, our DevDocs hasn’t been fully updated to reflect the changes introduced in our V6 release, particularly those related to deprecated features. The team is aware of this and is actively working on the necessary revisions.

Regarding the issue you’ve noticed in Google Search results—I see what you’re referring to. I’ve created a ticket so the Knowledgebase team can review and apply the appropriate updates to improve visibility and accuracy.

If you need to continue using the deprecated functions referenced in the article, I recommend downgrading The Events Calendar to version 5.16.4.1, which you can download here:
    https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/the-events-calendar.5.16.4.1.zip

Please keep in mind that using older versions may expose your site to security or compatibility issues, so proceed with caution and consider testing in a staging environment first.
