    I have built out a sample tree several times and it keeps losing all the content I build into it. First, I discovered that if I save as a draft, leave the the page then come back, all of the content of the tree is gone. I also tried publishing and that did save the tree content. But I just tried editing a question text area and hit enter (not the publish button). Now the entire tree content is gone again.

    Is they any resolution to this problem?
    Thanks!

    No response for a week….Has this plugin gone unsupported?

    I’m having the same problem. If you click “save” but didn’t have an answer for one of the branches, then it removes all the data and you have to start over. Fine if there are only a few steps, but my tree has 128 different possible answers.

    I’d be happy to pay for a premium version.

    After 2 weeks with no response from the developer here or on the Sidecar.tv website, I went to Plan B and built out my tree using Gravity Forms. It’s not the simplest way to do it, but at least that one works and has support. I’d much rather use this plugin and if it’s ever fixed, I may try it again.

    Can you show me on your site where you’ve done that? Maybe Gravity forms would work for me.

    What I’m doing is building a lens finder. You enter your brand of camera, what you want your lens to do, and how much money you want to spend, and it spits you over to a page with the best lens options for you.

    I can’t send you to my page as it’s inside a corporate firewall, but you should be able to do what you want with Gravity Forms. You can send a question to them asking about your specific use case. I sent them one and got a reply within a few minutes. You can also run various demos on their website to get ideas for various uses.
    Hope that helps.

    Hey guys,

    Sorry for the delay, we’re happy to help out. Can you let us know what version of PHP you are using and what version of WordPress you are using?

    There is a known bug with drafts that we are working on fixing right now and should have an update out soon.

    (@rcstanl)

    I’m running WP 3.9.1 and PHP 5.3.3.

    rcstanl – yikes! if you’re editing a decision tree (DT) and hit the enter button – bad stuff happens! I’m able to reproduce the bug you found. The work around should be to click with your mouse on the “Update” or “Publish” button. This should file all our JavaScript handling to properly save the DT you’re working on. There is, still, a bug we mentioned about saving drafts.

    We really appreciate your feedback and intend to fix all the issues uncovered here. Stay tuned!

    rcstanl – We’ve whipped up a fix for when you hit enter vs click the “publish” button. It’s in code review and QA now, but we’ll publish it just as soon as we’ve confirmed it works!

    Thanks again for your feedback and patience.

    Hey hey! We’ve posted a 1.0.3 build that fixes all the bugs (we hope) for losing data when creating/editing a DT:
    * Fix DT loss when you hit return
    * Fix DT loss when you click “Save Draft”
    * Fix DT not rendering when the title has an apostrophe
    * Hide choices when step is an answer
    * Ensure 3.9.2 support
    * Rev versions to 1.0.3

    However, the wordpress site hasn’t updated the link yet; it’s still showing 1.0.2. Here’s a direct link to the file we uploaded:

    sidecar-decision-tree.1.0.3.zip

    Hey again! The primary link to download off the DT page on wordpress.org has been updated!

    Please do let us know if you have further issues.
