Support » Plugin: Bainternet Posts Creation Limits » "Trash" bug

At the beginning I want to write, that You made a nice and simple plugin. Of course if plugin doesn’t have any error, it’s probably “Hello world!” plugin 🙂

I set to my user (using ID) limit of 3 posts (I choose “any” state). Everything works great until my user sends few posts to trash.

For example, my user reached allowed limit and decided to move one post to trash. He or She has still 3 posts (2 published and 1 in a trash). If count of posts not in a trash is less than 3, Your plugin allows to add a new one. After adding a fourth post, my user can recover post from trash and that’s the way He or She can have more than allowed limit. The problem probably is placed in “any” state. It’s not getting “trash” posts.

Could You be so kind and write me down, how to fix it?

    Thank You.

I’ll take a look into it.

    fixed in 2.6

Thank You. After upgrade from previous version, compiler shows warning:

Warning: Missing argument 2 for bapl::limit_xml_rpc() in /www/wp-content/plugins/bainternet-posts-creation-limits/bapl.php on line 60

EDIT: After clean installation warning occurs too.

Ok, seems that after upgrade it works with problems. Turning on new version of plugin causes warnings on a blank page (after confirmation of post):

Warning: Missing argument 2 for bapl::limit_xml_rpc() in /homez.136/naklubow/ on line 60

Warning: Missing argument 2 for bapl::limit_xml_rpc() in /homez.136/naklubow/ on line 60

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /homez.136/naklubow/ in /homez.136/naklubow/ on line 881

If I get into posts manually after “blank page” problem, I can see my new post.

Fixed in 2.7, Let me know.

The problem with warnings and “blank page” seems to be solved, but plugin doesn’t block users after reaching limits now. I chosen one user and defined 3 posts limit in any type (by USER_ID). I saved limit.

After relogin as my test user I can add as many posts as I want. My user is Contributor.

Plugin doesn’t work even if I set a limit on a Role. I couldn’t find any combination to make it works.

Yep, The post type any was the issue , Fixed!

Mmm… I don’t know what’s going on. After upgrade to 2.8 it doesn’t work at all. My Contributor can register as many posts as he/she wants (limit is set by USER_ID). In my opinion it’s not just related with “any” type. As I remember last working plugin version was 2.4. I’ll try to install fresh copy of WP and then try to install 2.8. Maybe something is wrong with update process. Any ideas?

Ps. Could You tell me where Your plugin keeps limits? During uninstall process limits seems not to be deleted. After reinstall I can see my limits from previous version.
