[Resolved] Transparent PNGs and IE

  • I am using this plugin with PNG images that have transparent backgrounds and semi-transparent shadows. Using the fade style transition, in Internet Explorer 7 and 8, during the transition, the shadow turns completely black (completely opaque). But before and after the transition, it looks fine. The slide type transition does not exhibit this problem. And the fade works fine with Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

This is a known problem of Internet Explorer 7 and 8, but it is a very difficult, if not impossible, problem to fix.

Version 2.2.0 of the slideshow plugin, which I’ll release some time this month, will have a direct fade transition without fading to a blank background. This will perhaps improve the way transitions between PNG images look in Internet Explorer 7 and 8.
