 * In the box menu under background color, you will see a little white icons with
   a red line crossing it. Click it for transparent background.

 * its funny how you know the answer to your question, but until it’s an answer 
   directed at you, you overlook something haha
 * I simply was looking in the wrong place for box settings, once I clicked on box
   under the text tab, there it was!
