Loco Translate plugin was used to translate the content from English to German. The site worked fine at the demo server location: http://www.germanbusinessguide.com/health-rooms/

However, once the site was transferred to the live location, the special characters in German are not appearing correctly. E.g., “Über uns” is appearing as “Ãœber uns”. If you see the home page and elsewhere in the website, all content is full of gibberish.

    Please advise.

Sounds to me like your live site isn’t set up correctly for UTF-8 encoding.

This does not indicate a fault in Loco Translate. It is a file editor that creates UTF-8 encoded MO files. You should ensure your live site can display this encoding just as your demo site does.

Thanks for the feedback. Changing the encoding did the trick. The site is now displaying the characters properly.
