How can I translate some english words on an admin page of a pod, e.g.:

“More Fields”, “Search …” (for a one to many relationship), “Add New” (for adding another pod), “— Select one —“(for a one to one relationship), “$” sign for currency (should be replaced to €)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @aschaenz

For general translations please go to https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/pods/ and add the translations to your locale. This is all handled by WordPress.

For Pod labels you can set your own translated labels in the Pod Edit screen. If you want to use multiple languages we have a component (Translate Pods Admin) you can enable to add translated labels for your Pods.

    Hope this helps!

    Dear Jory,

I’ve installed enabled “Translate Pods Amdin” and configured it to german (de_DE) but some words are still in english like:

“More Fields”, “Search” (0:n Relationship), “Add New” (for adding a new relationship) and “Select One” (1:1 Relationship).
I could replace the $-sign to € but not the other stuff.

Is the only way to solve the problem to extend the language package?

    Best regards, Albrecht

    Hi @aschaenz,

Correct, some strings are related to the plugin instead of the CPT/Pod you created.
The translations will need to be added to the language package (see link in previous comment).

    Cheers, Jory

    Dear Jory,

I took a deeper look to the translation issue. What I’ve found out so far is, please correct me if I am wrong:

    – the german language pack of wordpress (de_DE.po) is translated to 100%.
    – I downloaded the german language pack of pods dated 2016-04-12 16:59:58 for version 2.6.7 and opened the pods-de_DE_formal.po file with Poedit. It is translated to 100%.
    – So I looked at the online translation of Pods (https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/pods/stable/de/default/) and found for example the “More fields” issue I mentioned above with “Filter Term: more fields”. I was very surprised that this and other mentioned issues are already translated in the ” Stable (latest release): German” trunk, e.g. “More fields” by:

For me it seems that for example “More fields” is NOT in the current version of the german language pack of Pods (pods-2.6.7-de_DE_formal.zip) and I don’t know when a new version of the language pack which includes the necessary translations will be created.

Is there any way to get/download the pods-de_DE_formal.po of the current version of Pods (2.7.15) so that I can edit the appropriate items with Poedit because the translation issue could be a show-stopper for my project.

    Best regards, Albrecht

    Hello @aschaenz,

    Incorrect, it’s translated 31%, see:

    https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/de/default/wp-plugins/pods/

    Where did you find this?

WordPress doesn’t provide language packs if the translation isn’t (almost) complete yet. This is why you can’t download it in your installation.
Once the translation is almost complete (90/95 percent I believe) it will be available.

You can create it with Poedit yourself. But I’d like to ask you to provide the translations on translate.wordpress.org as well so your translations can be used by others. That is the whole idea of open source!
