• Hi, my question reflects the fact that I am a novice with WordPress and with the Ascent theme. I have chosen to have a static home page. After my content, there is an automatic “Leave a reply” sentence, with a box to enter a reply. I have not been able to find how to translate this text in French (also the “start typing” hint, and the instructions about using html tags). If I can’t translate it, I’d prefer to remove it altogether instead of leaving it in English.

Can someone help me with one or the other solution?

    Thanks,

    Denis

OK, I found that at the bottom of each page, I could remove the option to leave a comment.

But there is one page where I would like to keep the option of leaving a comment “alive”, but would like to translate “Leave a reply” and a few other things in French. I still do not know how/where to do this.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Denis

Well, below the actual content of each page, there are a bunch of boxes stating (here I am translating from French, so it may not be exactly what you will see): Personalized fields, Discussion, Comment, Identifier, and Author.
In the Discussion part, there is a check box to authorize “comments” or not. I have to uncheck this for every page, I could not find an option to turn it off by default, and then turn it on for only some pages.
