The translation process for any WordPress plugin or theme also requires the .po file you entered all the translations into be compiled into a .mo (or machine object) file which is used to execute the translations on the code’s side of things.

Also, the naming of your file must match that of the conventions outlined in the later part of this article:
    http://urbangiraffe.com/articles/translating-wordpress-themes-and-plugins/

The prefix for Pushover Notifications for WordPress is ‘ckpn’ so an example for a French Translation would be:
    ckpn-fr_FR

Also, the location of this file must be in the ‘languages’ directory of my plugin /wp-content/plugins/pushover-notifications/languages/ for the plugin to attempt to load your locale translation file.

If you’d like me to take a look at it let me know and I’d be happy to.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Thank you! I did not know the ckpn prefix and tried others, but now it works. How can I send you the German translation?

Great! Thanks for translating the plugin. You are the first that’s informed they have translated so I would love to include it in the core plugin with the next update. If you could just email me the .mo & .po files at cklosowski at gmail dot com that’d be great.

    Cheers!
