Hello, I followed all the needed steps to translate the events plugin using the .po and .mo files, but it doesnt work. I want to translate it from English into German. I saved the files in the correct name, uploaded those to the languages folder on the FTP, made sure that the wordpress wp-config.php file is updated etc. What else could the problem be.
I did the same for other plug-ins and the wordpress template itself and it worked for those. But I cant get this to work! Any idea what else the problem could be?

    Thanks for all your help!
    Corinna

  • Is there a reason you can’t use the existing German translation?

I am using the German translation, but not all field are translating into German.
The only field translating into German is the “month” one meaning that the months read in German, all other filed dont translate. For example “Upcoming events”, “Previous events” or “find out more” filed dont translate into German. I tried it several times but cant figure it out… I dont get a error message or anything.

Could you maybe send me a new german file that I can use?

Oh I see – well we always welcome suggestions and improvements for our translations, if you want to detail what they should be. Actual use of tools like poedit and the process for compiling .mo files however is, I’m afraid, beyond what we can help with here.
