    Hello,
For several weeks I was looking for a plugin that can create maps with customizable markers. Yours may well be appropriate. But I still have several questions before finally retain that one.

1° The plugin has no file for translation. It’s a shame. If you internationalize the plugin, I might be translated into French.

2° Without translation or explanation, I do not understand how works the “Controls” section. Could you create an help page about that in the documentation?

3° It may be a matter of settings or controls, but I would be able to adjust the zoom level when there is a single marker on the map. For now, when the map appears with the default zoom, we do not even know where the marker is, perhaps in water or in a meadow …
At least I would like to display the surroundings.

4° One of my criteria for choosing a Google maps plugin is the the “mashup” function. I have not found or not understood how to create a map containing all the cards, while the description of the plugin announces that it can do this.

That’a all for the moment 😉

  • Hey flobogo

I’ve let the devs know about the thread, so they will have to come back to you on questions 1 and 4, but I can address 2 and 3 so long.

The Controls section merely allows you to switch on/off various controls that you can usually find on Google Maps – such as the scale, zoom controls, overview and so forth. You can switch them on and off to see what each switch does on the map preview above.

On question 3 – In the Settings section, there is an option called Auto Fit. It is ON by default when you create a map, and what it attempts to do is to Zoom your map to a point where all your markers are visible when the map loads. However, if you only have one marker it will automatically go to maximum zoom, which results in what you see.

If you switch it to OFF, a button will appear below it: Get Map Center and Zoom. Simply Zoom and move your map to the point you want it to be when the page loads, and click that button, and that will be the default zoom for your map.

Hope this helps you – I’ll get the dev team to get back to you on your other two questions.

    Hi,
Thank you for your interest in my questions.

I had found by myself the solution for question 3: switch “Auto Fit” button to OFF, in order to set the zoom level.

Thereafter, I will look better the effects of different control buttons. It’s still a shame that no further assistance by tooltip when using the plugin, or in a help page on the authors website.

But the most important point for me is still the function “mashup”.
I hope to have a quick answer to this, because the description of the plugin says it’s possible –>

“It offers extensive configuration options, the ability to aggregate all your markers in one map via Marker Geo Mashup, and provides a simple drag-and-drop interface for marker generation.”

But I really do not find how to do it. Maybe a shortcode to change?

    Soon for an answer.

    Hi,

It appears that there may be some confusion about the “Marker Geo Mashup” – we have added this point in our documentation to illustrate that our plugin supports multiple markers, with custom content, all on one map. If you have a different understanding of what this point refers to, could you please elaborate on the required functionality so that we can address your concerns.

Indeed, I tested several plugins successively and I surely mistaken. Sorry.
