Support » Plugin: Polylang » Translate strings from jetpack comments

  • Hi,

I’m trying a find where I can edit these sentences but couldn’t find a way.
I’ve tried adding them in the fr_BE.po file but they did not show up translated.

As an example, when adding a new comment, two check boxes are displayed but only the second has been translated in French:

Notify me of new comments via email.
Avertissez-moi par email des nouveaux articles

Can someone tell me where I can edit this sentence?

I’ve already contacted JetPack support and they told me that’s a PolyLang case 🙂

    Thank you
    Regards

    Hi,

    Probaly not related to Polylang.

The Jetpack translation has not been updated for 3 years in fr_BE. https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/jetpack/language-packs/. The Jetpack development goes too fast and volunteer translators can’t follow that rythm.

Editing the .po has no effect. It’s not read by WordPress. Use Loco Translate or poedit to edit your translations.

They told me it was on Polylang side, now you are telling me it’s on JetPack side 🙂
    Nevermind.

I edited the po with the mentionned sentence, generated it in mo format but it’s still not translated.

You are telling me to look more deeper inside po/mo files?

    Thanks
