[Resolved] Translate problem

  • Hi, have som problem to translate to Swedish.
Iam try to edit the file that come with the installation.
    eme-sv_SE.po

    I add for an ex

    #: eme_rsvp.php:99
msgid “(* marks a required field)”
msgstr “(* markerade fält måste fyllas i)”

But nothing happens with the forms, still stands (* marks a required field). If I change it direct in eme_rsvp.php its works fine, but then it will be harder to update in the future.

Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Ps. If plugin developer wants some help to make a full swedish translation I am happy to help

You need a tool that compiles the po file into a mo file. E.g. poedit. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Translating_WordPress .
Btw: if you find anything to be incorrect in a po file, you can always mail the corrected po and mo files to me, so it can be included in the next version.

    Thanks for answer!

I have try to update the .po file with no luck.

    If you look here
    http://www.waltersfoto.se/bloggen/events/5/filma-med-systemkamera-grundkursbas/

The site is on swedish but the form will not be translate
(Required field) and (* marks a required field) is not in the swedish po file and for me it not work to add them manuell.
I got the feeling that I not get the lang file in the included form on the page.

Hope you understand me english. If you dont let me know so I can make a new try to explain the problem.

    Thanks for your help!

When using poedit, you need to open the existing po file (and possibly the existing POT file as well). Upon saving, the po *and* the corresponding mo file get updated. You need to then copy those 2 over the original files (it’s in fact the mo file that is used).

Great! Now I understand and its working 🙂

I have started to make a new full translate for swedish that I will send to you when I am finished.

Thanks for your support and great plug-in!
