Support » Plugin: Store Locator Plus for WordPress » Translate Map Labels with WPML?

  • Hi there,

I purchased the Pro Pack and I would like to use the Store Locator Plus in my multilingual website.
I can set the labels used in the search bar and results through the plugin’s Map Settings but how can I translate these labels for every other language? Is this even possible?
I use WPML as translation plugin and the labels don’t show up in the String Translations.
    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks, Toine

I have a WPML dev account and after reviewing the dev kit it is hours, if not days, of work to hook into that plugin. While I’d love to do it, that is simply way too much time to devote to a single task at this point. If someone needs it badly enough contacting WPML to convince them to assist in the SLP update would be prudent. The other option would be to purchase a day of or two of customization time so I can put it on my dev schedule.

    Hi there,

I appreciate your time to answer me and I understand what you’re saying.
However; isn’t there any other way I can use multiple instances of the Store Locator Map, each with different (translated) labels?
A lot of other plugins aren’t compatible with WPML either but most of them offer the use of shortcodes in a page so you can translate the text etc. and use a different shortcode for each language. Any intentions to integrate this with your plugin?
It would be a shame for such a nice plugin if you can only use it in 1 language only throughout your whole multilingual website!

    Thanks, Toine

This will be as much work as WPML and I’d rather take the route of being compatible with a well known & frequently updated translation plugin v. starting to build my own custom features.
