Translatation problems (Norwegian)

I have a problem with the Norwegian translataion of the Events Calendar. I have looked through the translation here, but the error cannot be found there, so I’m a bit puzzled.
The problem is the word “Event” which on my pages translates to “Hendelse”. Although “Hendelse” also my translate to an event, it is the wrong word in this context. “Hendelse” as a meaning more akin to an “Incident”. The right word is “Arrangement”. It is correctly translated on the translation pages linked to above, but yet it’s the word “Hendelse” that pops up on my web page.

I just lost my big answer there. So a short version.
It looks like the almost correct translations in wp-content > plugins > the-events-calendar > lang are overriden by files installed in wp-content > languages > plugins. Those are installed via the WordPress updates process (new translations available…).
The situation is bad because at least for french, the .po file provided by the update author is not an update of the .po file provided by the genuine author.
For example, “keyword” in the search field is an entry of the genuine .po file. When the update is there, “keyword” is no more translated. The reason is that the corresponding entry does not exist in the updated .po file. That means that the updated .po file does not complete the genuine .po file but takes the precedence. Point.
I don’t know how to deal with the issue.
I can just delete the updated translations in wp-content > languages > plugins. I can also replace updated files there by the genuine files once they are correctly fixed by myself.
We need that the authors take the issue in hands otherwise we are going to deal with serious inconsistence in what the users are going to see each time WordPress is going to update the translations or the authors are going to release a new update.
