• Hi Guys,

Recently my host has increased prices by 70% so I had little time to move everything to a new host.

I have saved all files in the wordpress directory, however I now realize I didnt back up the database through admin CP section

is the site completely lost now!? Or is there a way of recovering it?

I am in the process of uploading the old site onto new server as we speak, but thought I would ask if there was any way of recovering database files, or perhaps whether WP does automatic backups etc.

    Many thanks

  • Unless you have a plugin that does backups there is no way but have backup your self or your host normally keep backup.
If you can still log in on old host you can backup using the backup program that cpanel has or export from phpmyadmin.

    I can’t log back into old host I’m afraid…

I afraid to say that if you did not keep backup as recommended then you will have lost all your content.
You can ask your old host if they could send a backup

yeah, the “govpatel” is right, ask for the service provider send you the backup, they have that.
