# Transferring from wordpress.com

 * HI,
    I am trying to transfer my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org so that
   I can use some plugins that are not available at .com
 * I have self hosted with Crazy Domains and have followed all the steps from both
   wordpress and crazy domains to install wordpress and import my site.
 * However, the site seems to have gone strange. The tabs are appearing twice, the
   headier is not working.
 * When I click on the wp-admin link through the host it says the page is no longer
   available. My site is [http://www.effervescence.com.au](http://www.effervescence.com.au)
   although apparently the root directory is [http://www.effervescencedotcomdotau.wordpress.com](http://www.effervescencedotcomdotau.wordpress.com)
 * Have a missed a step out somewhere? I am very confused! Plus I can’t work out
   how to make the site not visible online while I sort this out – is there a maintenance
   mode?

 * Hmm, when I try to go to your site I get the first step of the WordPress installation.
   Have you tried something else since posting this?

 * yes – I have but it is still not working. I don’t think the tech support at Crazy
   Domains is giving me the right advice….i can’t even get the admin page to come
   up now after they redirected something yesterday. Will have to get back onto 
   them…
