I need to transfer a theme from 1 site to another. The first site is a linux based server using wordpress to manage the site. Second site is a WordPress Business managed site. Both hosted thru GoDaddy. I can get to the file via ftp on the Linux based site but not thru the WordPress hosted site. The theme is on the linux based site.

What is a “WordPress Business managed site”?

It’s how it is listed with GoDaddy hosting.

    Hello.

To transfer the theme, I believe you would simply copy the theme folder/files from website1.com\wp-content\themes\theme-name\ to website2.com\wp-content\themes\theme-name\.

If you also want to transfer your content, the easiest way is to export your data from the first site ( Dashboard -> Tools -> Export -> All Content), and then import the data file to the new site (Dashboard -> Tools -> Import -> WordPress Data File).

Can anybody back me up on this? Cheers.
