[resolved] Transfering subscribers (Mailchimp/WP) into WP list (3 posts)

    Hi,
Hopefully I've posted this in the right place (it's actually the 3rd time of posting this in different parts of the forum).

When I moved to hosted (with GoDaddy) my blog stopped sending out the email to my subscribers; no problem I thought & started using mailchimp to do this. It was a bit laborious, but hey, it did the trick.

Now, for some unknown reason, my blog has started sending out the new post email again.

    Couple of questions.
    1. Is it possible to get the subscriber link so I can replace the mailchimp link for new subscribers, which is in a widget?

2.How do I import all the subscribers from mailchimp (I have the email addresses) but don't know where to put them, so they now get the automated version of a new post?

Jetpack is activated, if that helps.

    Many thanks in advance

The blog I need help with is chefhermes.com.

In case no one with more experience answers, I thought I would see if I can be helpful. It's my understanding that people who subscribe using the JetPack Subscribe widget are actually working through a direct relationship with WordPress.com. You are only a third party at that point. You don't get to have access to or manipulate the resulting mail list in any way. This has serious pros and cons.

If that is not going to work for you, it sounds like you may want Subscribe 2. This gives you full control over your email lists and lots of options.

Alternatively, you could run both. I am newly enamored with the WordPress.com subscription service that lets me organize all my followed blogs into one weekly email sent on the day and time I specify. I would be more likely to sign up via WordPress.com than I would via any other subscribe option.

Jetpack doesn't include such a link, I'm afraid.

Jetpack doesn't allow you to import subscribers from a third-party service at the moment.

To make it easy for your existing subscribers to subscribe again using Jetpack Subscriptions, I would suggest the following:

    1. Create a new Page on your site, named "Subscribe"
    2. Insert the following shortcode in the page content:

      [jetpack_subscription_form]

    3. Send a link to that page to all your subscribers, to allow them to subscribe using Jetpack Subscriptions.
