• I’m switching domains soon, but I dont want to get rid of all my old posts. I tried looking around the admin panel for anything to do with archives but found nothing. But is there any easy way to transfer them? I’m being very vague here. 🙁

  • well.. i think there’s a back up plugin, i think. you can do it manually as well. just make sure you hold on to wp-config and your dump file.
the following is what i used when i did something similar. it worked with 1.2. i’d like to have someone else run by this before you try it.
use phpmyadmin and export wp_comments, wp_posts, wp_postmeta, and wp_post2cat. you want to keep both structure and data and add drop tables. this will create an sql for you. reinstall wordpress (the SAME version as you had on your first server) and set up all your options. after that, head back to phpmyadmin and drop those same tables from your new install. use the sql file to recreate those tables, along with your posts.

Wow, too complicated for me 🙁 There’s no file where they’re stored or anything? What do you mean by “manually”? And would my dump file be something like index.php? Sorrie, I obviously dont know much about this.
