 * Hello. I have a question regarding the Sucuri api key for this plugin, and transferring
between hosting accounts. I am working with a client who was previously managed
and hosted by a different company. We have taken over their account and set up
hosting through a different company. Their current Sucuri account is set up under
the previous companies account. How does this transition effect sucuri and your
api? Is there any way we can transfer the existing account to ours to maintain
all of the data for this client, or do they need to start from scratch?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ftransfering-api-key%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * You may want to chat with one of our support agents here [1].
 * The API key that you get after the activation of the WordPress plugin has no
relationship with the customer’s data. Because anyone can create a free key,
associating this data to a customer is not necessary. Then, it is not possible
   to transfer this data.
 * Technically speaking, we could log into the server and change the email address
used to generate the key, but as far as I know only two people in the company
have access to these servers, and they may not be available for a single transfer.
You can, however, explain your case to one of our support agents and they may
escalate it to the correct person.
 * My suggestion, generate a new API key and start from scratch.
 * You can export the existing logs and import them again into the system with the
new key, but the dates will not match the original ones, so this may not be very
   useful.
 * Let me know if you need more information.
