This is my first time making a site of any sort, so bear with me. * I created a website on wordpress.com. When I created it, I bought myself a domain name, DavideMastracci.com * Upon doing this, I realized I wanted to install plugins, but realized I couldn’t. I discovered I needed to get my website hosted, and then transferred to the . org to do so. * So I got myself hosted on HostGator. Then, I attempted to do the one click installation of wordpress.org to my main domain. * It was successful, and gave me the admin username and a password, but when I tried to log in to the url it told me to, I just got redirected to my main domain, with it telling me that I have the wrong log in info. * By buying a domain before transferring to wordpress.org, did I screw myself over? I just want wordpress.org on my domain. * Any help would be great. So I’ve done that now, about 15 hours ago. The problem is that what you experience is not the same as what someone else is experiencing, because they do not use the same Domain Name Server (DNS) as you do. Well, the link I was given when I installed wordpress.org through host gator won’t let me log in. * And I can still log in to my word press.com account, with all the same settings. Then I did some work, had to restart, and now I can’t get back in. Viewing the page source, the addresses are all [http://davidemastracci.com/admin/etc…](http://davidemastracci.com/admin/etc…); * I also entered into the address bar: [http://davidemastracci.com/about/](http://davidemastracci.com/about/) and got the “About” page to your site. Viewing the page source, the addresses are all [http://davidemastracci.com/etc…](http://davidemastracci.com/etc…); * This seems to be pointing to the correct site. * But, when I entered into the address bar just: [http://davidemastracci.com/](http://davidemastracci.com/) or [http://davidemastracci.com/index.php](http://davidemastracci.com/index.php), I got the “error404” page.
