Transfer .org to .com

    Hello,

I have a paid site on wordpress.org. However I am no longer updating it and want to close it down. But I don’t want to lose all my hard work so I’m wondering if I can copy the content over to a wordpress.com site.

I’ve tried ‘import’ but get the error message of:
This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number

Can anyone please tell me if it’s possible to do this? I don’t want to lose 3 years of hard work!

    Thanks,
    Allison

Thanks WPyogi, but I already tried that and I just got the error message of :

This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number

Do you know how I fix this?

Also I think it may not be exporting the .org file correctly. I tried again and this time I got an error with the export and it said:

C:\Users\Alliso\Desktop\MQ\Website backup\morningquickie.wordpress.2013-07-05.xml.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Do you know what this means or how to download/export it properly?
