Support » Localhost Installs » transfer my site from localhost to my wordpress.com site

  • Hi,

I have created a website with wordpress.com awhich was fine but realised this was quite limited. So I have created another one with wordpress.org which includes a new template, new posts, etc. I have successfully installed and run WAMPSERVER so I can navigate in this website with no problem but it is only accessible to me as it is only available on my localhost. I would like to put it online so I have exported as an HTML file and then import the file from my WordPress.com site, but all it does is to import my menu despite the fact of selecting the option of importing all the site. Is there a way to put it online i.e. on my .com site directly from my local host dashboard?

    Thank you,
    Paolo

You cannot upload anything to a wordpress.com site beyond content in a WordPress.xml export file. Even then, images won’t import unless your local server has a publically accessible domain name or IP address.

So what to do? I am stuck with a draft blog online and a complete blog which I can put on line. There must be a way otherwise what is the point of having wordpress.org. Basically what I want to do is to put online the wordpress.org site using the domain I have purchased with wordpress.com – please help!

Sorry a complete blog which I cannot put online. How to put online the wordpress.org site which I have completed using the domain I have purchased with wordpress.com – please help!

You would need to purchase hosting and install WordPress on your new hosting.
