First, I know that there are several other topics on this subjet, but none of them are deling with my specific problem.

    This can’t be SO difficult.

I’m trying to transfer my blog from wordpress.com to my self hosted wordpress install. I’m working with a Dreamhost grid server, wordpress 2.7.

I’ve done every step as indicated:

Generated the XML file, export, import on my host, select “attached images” and… that’s where the problems began

I can’t import all of the images… Somehow, it just imports 149 posts out of 522

    Yes, I’ve tried several times

No, i can’t just leave images on wordpress.com, I’m going to do a domain remapping, so I’m going to lose all the images.

I’ve tried the solution proposed by lorelle on http://wordpress.org/support/topic/225865?replies=2, again, with no use.

Do I have to tell my hosting provider to do ANYTHING? Do I have to use any other tool? Why is it so hard to transfer images?

    Thank you

I’ve finally figured it out: I’ve downloaded Internet Download Manager, grabbed the entire site (only the images), with the same folder structure, and then replaced the original path on mysql…

That’s it, now it is working..
