# Transfer from wordpress.com to wordpress.org

 * I started a blog on wordpress.com (no domain) and later decided to switch to 
   wordpress.org so I could use my domain. I’m showing a temporary URL in settings.
   I’m not sure what that should say.

 * Okay, I put the http in front and something happened. But libertieluxe.wordpress.
   com hasn’t switched over to libertieluxe.com.

   and nowhere else, i.e. dashboard??

 * To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different 
   entities.

 * Regarding the profile pic, it’s actually a Gravatar, which WordPress.com and 
   these forums use for their Avatars.

 * If your profile on your WordPress.org blog has the same email address, it should
   show the same Gravatar.

 * Thanks for your reply. I’ve followed the guide. i still have my blog on wordpress.
   com and just a generic provided by the host at my domain name. I want to combine
   the two.

 * Yep, there is no way to combine them in the literal sense, so you need to move
   the content over.

 * Yes, you can safely delete the WordPress.com blog once the import is done, but
   I generally recommend just making it Private instead (via Settings -> Reading
   the WordPress.com blog’s Dashboard), just in case you ever want to go back.

   now. Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache?
