@m500x, may I know which language are you planning to translate it to?
As an option you can translate the whole theme into your language, then it won’t be needed to change it manually after every update.

Hi Stanislav, to Polish. Could you please advise me how to do this? Thank you.
@m500x there are only 252 expressions for translation in this theme.
This is the link for translation into Polish https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/pl/default/wp-themes/chaplin/
1. just click the theme name and translate 95%
2. then contact several editors for your language and ask them to approve your translation (the list of editors is in the bottom right corner of the page I mentioned above)
3. then in about a day the language pack for Polish will be available in WP console (updates section)
I contributed for 50% of Chaplin translation into Russian and it took me about an hour or so.

Hi Stanislav, I hope you’re well. I’ve translated the theme and contacted by Slack all editors who are listed however nobody has answered yet. Do you know is there any other method to contact them aside from Slack? Polish translation is just waiting for more than two days now.

Hey @m500x, there are two options:
1. Place a request on your own as advised here https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/rosetta/roles-and-capabilities/pte-request/#pte-request-by-a-translator .
2. Ask the author of the theme to help you in contacting an editor or appointing you as an editor for the theme (since you already translated it).
Hope it can help you.

Thank you Stanislav. I’ve just created my own pack with .mo and .po files and translated my site 🙂 thank you for your advice!
@m500x, ok then! Nice to hear that the issue is resolved.
