Support » Plugin: Theater for WordPress » Trailer in iframe won’t display right or play

  • The trailer/video is in an iframe.
This html and css works in a regular post, but on A theatre event post

    ( wp_theatre_prod-template-default single single-wp_theatre_prod )

it displays as a vertical object (width is correct, height is wrong), and the play button doesn’t work. You cannot play the video.

What do I need to do to get the video working on a theatre template?

    Cheers
    Miriam

    Hi Miriam,

You seem to be using a 3rd party page builder to create your pages. I am not familiar with the way that video embeds work with this page builder. It is probably best to ask the creator of the page builder for advice.

I did mine by hand, but I had to edit a file in the plugin to get the custom post type to support custom fields. Then I added a custom field called video_url

You can see it in action and look at the source code here

Well, I suppose that is the easy answer, must be the page builder.
The page builder will say, I don’t know that plugin or its template, ask the template maker.

I would have though you would know if your template is doing something that would get in the way of an iframe loading or a video playing. Or other animation-type things.

It is something in the theatre template, or its processes, that gets in the way.

Suggestions about where to look in the template or its processes would be welcome.

    Miriam,

The Theater for WordPress does not have any templates. Nor does it do anything with embedded videos. All it does is show the info of your event inside your existing template/theme.

The page builder will say, I don’t know that plugin or its template, ask the template maker.

You are using a page builder I don’t know to embed a video inside a theme that I don’t know. I think asking the creator of the page builder or the creator of the theme is the most obvious and effective way to move ahead.
