Support » Theme: Tracks » Tracks Child Theme CSS not always working

  • I’ve gotten SOME of the CSS to work just fine in the child style.css file but some of it I need to but in the CUSTOMIZE > ADDITIONAL CSS window for it to work. Any idea why this might be? It’s weird.

    If some CSS is not applying but other snippets are, then I’m guessing it is an issue of CSS specificity.

    The Additional CSS is output inline rather than from a file which gives it a slightly higher specificity value and could explain the difference.

    You can try updating your selectors to have a higher specificity score, or simply add an !important tag and that should work. Here’s an example:

    .site-title {
      font-size: 22px !important;
    }

    If that still doesn’t help, then the issue must be that the stylesheet is getting cached. In which case, try emptying your cache after editing the child theme’s stylesheet and then the changes should show up.
