Tracking WordPress Page/Post Author as Custom Dimension

My goal: get Matomo to be able to track/filter results by the author of each post/page.

I understand that using Custom Dimensions is the best route here, so I’ve installed that plugin, and I’ve added an Action Dimension, Id=1 named “Page Author”.

I also see in the WP-Matomo Settings that I can edit our tracking code to add the appropriate _paq.push command there. My question: how do I get wordpress to dynamically populate the Tracking Code with the author of the page from which it’s being called?

And if that’s not possible, what would another way of doing this be?
