Yes it will. It doesn’t matter how old the entry is when a TB url is entered it will be sent when you save the post.
Is that really the case? I’ve tried that in the past, and it absolutely did not work. Neither did pingbacking this way.
I have never had a problem with it.
I have written posts then found something related one or two weeks later in someones else’s blog. I entered the TB url in my old post saved it and had the TB display on the other blog.
What would cause your problem? I have no idea. In fact I’m amazed by all the threads here with TB related problems. I have never had any dating all the way back to ver wp 1.2
Must be something that afflicts certain databases, or something. I’ve had that problem starting with 1.2, and it doesn’t seem to have been solved with 1.5. In fact, I’ve had to resort to using HaloScan (which I used when I had a BlogSpot blog) to send manual trackbacks in such cases.
