 * When I install the Total Cache plugin, I get the message
    “W3 Total Cache (Will
   cache site and not show updated IDX results.”
 * What cache plugin and/or settings do you recommend for this, we need to have
   some kind of cache plugin installed.
 * Also want to setup Cloudflare, will that also cause issues?
 * Thanks!!

 * Hello,
 * We understand that caching is an important part of my websites with the intent
   to increase page speed. One thing to keep in mind, is that unlike static wordpress
   pages and blog posts, the the IDX listings and html exists on our servers, and
   its served through Optima Express dynamically. I would expect it to take a little
   extra time when compared to a blog post.
 * Ultimately, a page load time of the search form of about 3 seconds is in the
   ball park of what I see on other sites using Optima Express, which includes are
   demo site.
 * We recommend strongly against caching because it can affect the way our plugin
   updates cookies or the listing data. If you absolutely must use caching I would
   recommend looking into options for page exemptions. Some caching programs will
   allow you to white list pages that will not be cached and this could help you
   avoid running into issues with outdated data and make sure user sessions are
   tracked.
 * That being said we really do appreciate your feedback and I’ll make sure our
   product team knows that our clients are interested in caching.

 * I would agree. One of the benefits of the [iHomefinder plugin](http://www.ihomefinder.com/products/marketboost/)
   is using the cookies and listings for lead generation. I found that not caching
   was best and gave us better results.

 * I have installed W3 Total Cache and excluded all the listing pages from caching.
   Did you try this Alan? When you say better results what exactly do you mean by
   that? Better conversions from people viewing the listings?
 * After setting up W3 Total Cache with have seen a great increase in page load
   speed and performance for the rest of the website.
